ELDER CARE: Families or individuals seeking to hire a foreign caregiver to provide home care for individuals requiring assistance with medical needs are exempt from paying the Labour Market Impact Assessment application processing fee.

CHILD CARE: Families or individuals with a gross annual income of $150,000 or less, seeking to hire a foreign caregiver to provide childcare to a child under 13 years of age, also qualify for the processing fee exemption. If you are asking to be considered for Exemption, they will ask for FAMILY INCOME (IF there are two parents living in one home they will ask total income of both – not just one parent ) Year 2016 NOA is required for each parent – calculations are done based on Total Income shown on line 150 of the NOA NannyElderCare Agency will provide free calculation so you can be assured of receiving $1,000 Exemption of LMIA Fee
SINGLE parent will get EXEMPTION IF they have less than $150,000 GROSS (Gross Income is typically the amount entered on line 150 on YEAR 2016 NOA Notice of Assessment from CRA)
TWO PARENTs living in same home will need to show the GROSS INCOME of BOTH parents — in order to be eligible for exemption
